Berlin, Germany. Deutsche Bahn, the German railway operator, has awarded their most valued suppliers yesterday at the InnoTrans 2018 in Berlin. The supplier awards are handed out in four categories: Railway vehicles, infrastructure, general products and services as well as environment. Moreover, the Deutsche Bahn awards the most innovative supplier with the prestigious bi-yearly DB Supplier Innovation Award.
The awarded companies are making significant contributions to the accomplishment of the DB2020+ business strategy. “With the Supplier Commendation and the Supplier Innovation Award, we honor the outstanding performance of our partners across the industry”, states Uwe Günther, DB Chief Procurement Officer (CPO).
Holoplot has been awarded the Supplier Innovation Award for its innovative and powerful audio system: “Our system enhances the traveler’s experience by significantly improving the quality of announcements at train stations as well as limiting noise pollution. It is a great honor to be awarded the Supplier Innovation Award and seeing that our developments are creating value for our customers”, comments Roman Sick, Holoplot’s CEO, the accomplishment. The system of the Berlin-based company allows to control the directivity of sound with high precision and efficiency. With Holoplot’s innovation, announcements can be targeted to specific segments without spillover effects. Moreover, the volume is nearly constant over distance, which leads to substantial speech intelligibility improvements. More clean and comprehensive announcements not only increase the travel experience but are a significant element of safety.
