Prolight + Sound 2019: Holoplot to showcase latest innovations in wavefield synthesis and directivity control

BERLIN, GERMANY. Audio technology innovator Holoplot is returning to the Prolight + Sound exhibition (Messe, Frankfurt am Main, 2-5 April 2019) with a comprehensive showcase of its latest developments in 3D directivity control, soundfield tailoring, real-time control, multi-beam configuration and localization. In addition to introducing show visitors to its latest solutions on its own booth (Hall 8, C40), the company will participate in the Immersive Technologies Forum as well as a CAVIS series seminar about speech intelligibility.

Based in Berlin, Holoplot is a global leader in wavefield synthesis and 3D directivity control. Its technologies offer maximum optimization and control of audio, enabling unprecedented speech intelligibility and homogenous coverage over long distances. Increasingly applied to full-scale immersive audio projects, Holoplot technologies are targeted towards entertainment venues, museums, public spaces, and retail environments.

The current product range – which will be highlighted on the Holoplot booth throughout Prolight + Sound – is based around the Io audio module, the Eta processing core and the Orbit software interface. “Our systems provide a tool which introduces a new level of control, flexibility, and precision, especially when it comes to the creation of intelligible speech or mind-blowing, unique immersive audio experiences,” says Roman Sick, CEO of Holoplot.

Some of the key strengths of these technologies will be highlighted during an Immersive Technologies Forum session on 3 April, from 14:00 to 15:00 (Consens Room, Hall 4, Level C). In this presentation, Holoplot will examine the possibilities generated by designing immersive soundscapes through the use of a central loudspeaker array and the harnessing of room reflections. The company will highlight the creative opportunities of 3D directivity control and the precision that is offered by being able to accurately position sound objects in space.

Holoplot will also participate in one of the CAVIS seminars (formerly the Manufacturers’ Forum), addressing the latest developments in the fixed installation solutions market. Taking place on 4 April, from 14:00 to 15:00 (Entente Room, Hall 4, Level C), the Holoplot presentation will consider the importance of speech intelligibility and uniform coverage to a wide variety of applications. The company will show how its wavefield synthesis technologies can deliver these qualities over long distances, and describe how STI values can be maximized throughout the entire audience space.

Reflecting on the company’s involvement with the seminar programme, Roman Sick notes: “With the seminars, we want to educate the industry about the unique capabilities of our technology. Our technology works differently than conventional loudspeakers, delivering unique audio experiences with respect to speech intelligibility, immersive sound design, and multi-content delivery.
